Aspen and Rose was born in 2018 out of a long-time love of creating pretty things in a world that can be heavy with sadness. Initially a tiny jewelry company, A+R offered pieces that were reminders of hope, symbols of strength and courage, statements of the beauty found in originality. After taking a short pause, A+R has done a little growing up, and has relaunched as a lifestyle and gift boutique. Still with an eye on all things dreamy, A+R seeks to house space for local artists and makers of all kinds.
At the heart of A+R is a relentless pursuit of liberty and the restoration of dignity. All products are made by Canadian artists and small businesses or are thoughtfully thrifted. Buying directly from artists and creators ensures A+R can attest that people are being treated and paid fairly for their skilled and beautiful work. This is an uncompromising value of Aspen and Rose, driven by a greater passion for supporting people to live in freedom.
A word about the human behind the company
Danielle has always been drawn to things that smack of imagination, romance and times past. Danielle is jewelry-maker, amateur decorator, registered nurse, and as of recently, mama to a cute new person in the world. In her many roles, she loves every opportunity she has to discover and celebrate unique and beautiful qualities in people. Danielle has a fire in her heart to take part in the disruption of human exploitation and this is a thread that has weaved its way through her volunteer experiences, her educational journey, and her entrepreneurial endeavours.
